Tasting Characteristics

The wine is a dense ruby colour with aromas of red fruit (plum), alternating harmoniously with notes of cedar, spices, vanilla, dark chocolate and nutmeg.
 It has a rich mouth-feel with generous, robust tannins, good structure and an intensely fruity and long finish.

Vineyard

It originates from the best vineyards on the estate, with a low yield per hectare and an emphasis on the typical characteristics of the varietal and the region of Pangeon.

Vinification – Maturation

Once it has spent the first stage of its life in new French oak barrels, it is allowed to continue ageing in the winery’s cellars, for release 10 years after production. The Etos Merlot 2006 was first released in 2016. The year 2006 brought an excellent crop of the Merlot varietal, which is cultivated on the limestone and clay soils in the estate’s vineyards.

Harmony

It pairs well with beef fillet, leg of pork, wild boar with plums, aged cheeses.
