Johhnie Walker & Sons

In 1820, John Walker opened a grocer in Kilmarnock, Scotland, where he experimented with whiskey blending techniques and laid the foundation for the Johnnie Walker family business. It was John's son Alexander who introduced the iconic slanted label and square bottle to be distinctive and stand out on the shelf. In 1908, Alexander's sons commissioned master illustrator Tom Brown to sketch the Striding Man figure to represent their energetic brand.
