Since its origins in the Cognac region of western France, the Sazerac family name has commanded recognition and respect in the spirits industry. The company was founded in 1869 after buying a coffee bar and introducing a brand of cognac called Sazerac de Forge. After its purchase, the company began to acquire and market more beverage brands.
