The Bitter Truth

German label The Bitter Truth was founded in 2006 by Stephan Berg and Alexander Hauck in Munich. Both already had considerable experience making cocktail bitters for the bars they worked at. Also, Stephan had a large collection of modern and historical bitters, some of which had not been produced for decades. Thus, he knew what the world's most famous bitters tasted like and was considered an expert in this field. Their criteria for choosing flavors came mostly from old cocktail recipes.
