Havana Club Especial is the golden rum of this category. Soft and sweet due to vanilla, cinnamon, orange, dry oak and cedar. Its finish is considered bittersweet and takes flavors mainly from citrus fruits and vanilla.

The Process

Havana Especial is a blend of rums aged at least 4-5 years, which have come from a double aging process: 2 years of aguardiente (sugar cane spirit) aging + 3 years of rum aging in ex-bourbon barrels + 1 year of barrel aging from Irish whiskey.
