The Havana Club is the authentic rum of a nation. Its roots go back to Cuba in 1878, when Jos Arechabala set up his distillery on the north coast of the island. He created a Ron Viejo Superior which later evolved into a very special brand called the Havana Club. Today, the Havana Club offers a complete and wide range of high-quality rum, from white to dark matured varieties. The 3-year-old Havana Club is the ideal white rum for making iconic Cuban cocktails such as Mojito and Daiquiri. It is one of the favorites of the cantineros (bartenders) in the most famous bars of Cuba, Bodeguita Del Medio and El Floridita.

Tasting Characteristics

On the nose it has a complete bouquet of soft aromas, with notes of oak, molasses and sugar cane. Its taste is balanced and complex: sweet, mildly fruity taste with a light touch of citrus.

The process

It is distilled from Cuban sugarcane, and the rum is aged naturally for at least 3 years in white oak barrels specially selected by Maestros Roneros. This aging process, in the tropical climate of Cuba, gives the Havana Club 3 Years its light straw colour that reveals its age: each drop is at least three years old.
