Plantation Pineapple 700ml

The rum that was selected as the best product of the year in the Spirited Awards 2016 competition, is in Greece and brings with aromas of pineapple and cool Caribbean waves! The Stiggins - Fancy Plantation Pineapple, was created by Alexandre Gabriel, cellar master of Plantation and David Wondrich, author of the book Imbibe, and is named after Reverend Stiggins, the hero of the book Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens, who adored to enjoy his "pineapple rum". Rum with pineapple? Not exactly. It would not sound very "Fancy" and Plantation is known to always look for the sophisticated.

Tasting Characteristics

On the nose it has notes of melon, ginger and of course natural pineapple. In the mouth it has molasses, spices, pineapple juice and some earthy elements. Cassia develops gradually. The finish is with flavours of vanilla, lemon, mango and spices.

The process

Ripe Queen Victoria pineapples flavour the Plantation Original Dark for 3 months. This mixture is mixed with a distillate created by flavouring the pineapple peel in Plantation 3 Stars rum, and then aged together in oak casks for an additional 3 months before bottling.

Served

It deserves to be consumed plain or on the rocks.
