The windmill tower and a pear tree, that continues to bloom to this day, are the only visible remains of the old distillery. They are located directly opposite the famous Guinness Brewery, in St. James’s Gate. Restoring and changing the use of the iconic Guinness power plant into a distillery, Roe & Co Company is helping revitalize Dublin's Liberties area, where the heart of Irish whiskey beat, during the first golden age of Irish distilleries. Roe & Co Whiskey was created by Caroline Martin, one of the oldest Master Blenders, with over 30 years of experience. The pear shape, hidden in the recess of the bottom, is a tribute to the pear tree, that continues to bloom until today, outside St. Patricks Tower. The blue-green color is a homage to the oxidized copper in the tower's dome and a nod to the design codes of Irish whiskeys, during their heyday.

Tasting Characteristics

On the nose, round aromas of freshly roasted spices, sugar and vanilla. On the palate it is velvety and creamy, with flavors of pears and caramel. Finish is soft and slightly creamy.

The process

Exclusively matures in ex-bourbon barrels, many of which are first time used. Without chill filtration, Roe & Co is bottled at 45% vol, higher than usual.With its perfect balance of malt and grain whiskeys, is a suitable blend for cocktails.
