Matsui Shuzou was founded in 1910, in Tottori Prefecture, northwest of Kyoto, off the coast of Japan. The water of the area is a trademark. A blessing for the earth, it is used to highlight the wonderful characteristics of Kurayoshi. Tottori is also known for the abundance of nature, as over 14% of its total surface is defined as a Natural Park.

Tasting Characteristics

On the nose it has notes of red berries and hints of violet. In the mouth it tastes like orange peel and smoked barrel. The flavours of the nuts and the strawberry jam remain as an aftertaste.

The process

Kurayoshi is produced at the Matsui Shuzou Distillery. Ιt is a blend of Japanese and Scottish whiskies, that are bottled with water, filtered through volcanic rock from the area.

Served

Enjoy on the rocks, plain or with drops of mineral water.
