The Chita 700ml

In 1972, on the shores of the Chita peninsula, Keizo Saji, Suntory's second Master Blender, built a distillery, with the only purpose of making top quality Japanese grain whisky. With rich aromas and excellent balance, the grain whiskies of the Chita region have traditionally been used as "dashi", meaning the basis that enhances the harmony of Suntory blends.

Tasting Characteristics

On the nose it has aromas of melon, citrus, honey and cereals. It has vanilla flavours in the mouth, while the sense of honey becomes even more intense. There is also a distinctive hint of orchid flowers scent. Its finish is of medium duration.

The process

It is distilled using a rare continuous distiller, of two, three or even four-column scale, creating three main types of grain whisky. These whiskies have been aged in a variety of casks, before being combined to create The Chita Single Grain Whisky.
