The Lagavulin Distillery on Islay is home to one of Scotland's most famous whiskies. It is found in a romantic location, with a view on Dunyvaig Castle. Its name comes from the words "laggan mhouillin", meaning "the gap where the mill is located", in Gaelic.

Tasting Characteristics

Quite soft and clean on the nose, with hints of milk chocolate, lemon, tea, sea breeze and cereals. Softer than the rest whiskies of the distillery, fuller and more rounded when enjoyed with water. Mouth has a light texture, a full flavour and a long aftertaste.

The process

Bottled at 48% vol, after maturation in European and American oak casks.

Served

Enjoy on the rocks, plain or with drops of mineral water.
