Tasting Characteristics

Intense smoky character, with distinct sweet elements, due to the double maturation. Cigar, dark chocolate, cereals, dried fruits, vanilla are just some of the aromas. The sweet taste in the mouth enhances the dried fruits, the vanilla, but also the spices.

The process

Matures for at least 16 years in oak barrels, before being transfered in barrels, previously filled with Pedro Ximenez wine.

Served

Ideally straight.

Pairing

Lagavulin works well with seafood, such as mussels and oysters. Any blue cheese is also ideal.
