More than half of Scotland malt whiskey distilleries are located in Speyside. The Dufftown Distillery, where the Singleton is made, is located at the centre of this fertile area, between mountains, rivers and the sea.

Tasting Characteristics

This rich single malt has sweet fruit aromas and a prolonged, delicious finish. Flavours of roasted nuts combine with notes of black currant, brown sugar and espresso coffee on the palate.

The process

A high proportion matures in American oak casks and a smaller one in European oak casks, to balance the flavours.

Served

Enjoy on the rocks, plain or with drops of mineral water. For a Old Fashioned cocktail add:

- 45 ml (1,5 oz) Singleton 12-year-old Single Malt Whisky

- a splash of club soda

- 2 to 4 dashes of bitters you prefer

- 1 small brown sugar cube

- orange twist, for garnish
