Tasting Characteristics

The wine is a dense ruby colour with aromas of red fruit (plums and wild cherries), alternating harmoniously with notes of cedar, spices, vanilla, dark chocolate and nutmeg. It has a rich mouth-feel with generous, robust tannins, good structure and intensely fruity, long finish.

Vineyard

The estate-owned vineyard that today occupies 57 hectares, 380 metres above sea level, surrounds the winery.

Vinification – Maturation

Conventional red vinification methods are followed, with a long maceration period. Once malolactic fermentation is complete, it is aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels, where its rich character is rounded out.

Harmony

It pairs well with roasted meats and meat casseroles with spicy sauces, bottom round roast and high-fat cheeses.
