Don Papa Sherry Cask 700ml

Don Papa Rum was created at the foot of the active volcano Mt. Kanlaon, where the best sugarcane is ground to produce a sweet, rich molasses. Cane comes from Southeast Asia. The Philippines is historically one of the top ten sugarcane producers in the world! The island of Negros, or Sugarlandia, as the locals call it, produces more than half of the country's total sugar production. "Don Papa" is a tribute to Papa Isio, the real and charismatic leader of the Negros, who in 1890 helped the island and gained the independence of Sugarlandia from the Spaniards.

Tasting Characteristics

On the nose it has soft and fruity aromas with notes of raisins. In the mouth it is full of sweet notes of plum, dark chocolate and ripe - dried figs. The finish has a long duration.

The process

It ages for about 5.5 years in American oak bourbon casks and in four different types of sherry barrels: Palo Cortado, Fino, Cream, and Pedro Ximenez.
