Tasting Characteristics

On the face we have an intense ruby color. In the aromatic characteristics we find a wine of great aromatic intensity, characterized by strawberry, sour cherry, raspberry, raspberry, tomato, thyme, rosemary, lavender, followed by black pepper and bitter almond. In the mouth it is full, with cool acidity, fine balance supported by intense but perfectly integrated elegant tannins and the whole ensemble leads us to a very good long aftertaste.

Vineyard

Vrana Petra is a vineyard planted 44 years ago on an amphitheater slope at the edge of the village of Trilofos at 200m altitude. The soil is mainly limestone with a strong presence of slate and granite. The warm climate of the area is moderated by sea air currents that reach the area unimpeded but also by the cold currents that descend from Mount Vermio at different stages of the day. The large temperature range and the average temperature remained low for the altitude.

Vinification & Maturation

The harvest takes place on October 5. The grapes are 50% "whole cluster" and the fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts. The extraction lasts for 30 days. Aging in French barrels 500 liters, second-hand, for 12 months.
