Oban is one of the oldest and smallest distilleries in Scotland. It was founded in 1794 and the homonymous port town of Western Highland developed around the distillery. It is the only single malt Scotch whisky distillery around which a town developed. The Oban 14 Y.O. is a bridge between the Highlands and the Islands.

Tasting Characteristics

Full, rich body, while the taste is dominated by dried figs, spices and smoked malt. The nose has aromas of citrus, tobacco, sea salt and honey.

The process

The Oban 14 Y.O. is full of rich, deep flavors, which originate mainly from the slow distillation in two small pots, followed by cooling in spiral tubes and 14 years of maturation.
