Tasting Characteristics

The deep ruby color immediately refers to a variety with intense pigments and phenolic elements, while the blue reflections in the glass give a first indication of the young age of the wine. Clean nose, with a typical Syrah character, detected through aromas of ripe black fruits and raspberries, while a combination of spicy, such as pepper and sweet, such as vanilla spices, are a reference both to the peppery character of the variety, and to the twelve-month use of oak. Hints of violet give an additional floral character to the nose which is combined with some botanical hints. In the mouth the wine is dry with a moderate body, acidity which balances the 'juicy' fruit while the level of tannins is moderate and we would say that they are also 'soft'. Medium-lasting aftertaste, with a vanilla oak feel.

The Karipidi estate is a family winery located in the Vunaina Mountains of Thessaly in Central Greece and manages 300 acres of privately owned vineyard.

Vinification - Aging

A wine with great perspective over time. Aged for 16 months in French oak. Limited bottling. It can age up to 10 years.

Tasty Combinations

It is ideally combined with beef fillet, meats cooked with fruit sauces, yellow soft cheeses.
