Tasting Characteristics

Medium red color with several ruby highlights. On the nose it is extremely complex but with remarkable finesse, bringing out all the varietal characteristics of  Xinomavro, from sun-dried tomato, olive, cherry, strawberry, plum to lavender and sweet spices. In the mouth it is relatively full with noticeable tannins but not unapproachable and high acidity. All the aromas of the nose are found in the flavors, with the spices making their presence more intense and the dense fruit challenging us to drink the wine even now, although surely time will help it even more.

Vineyard

In the Polla Nera area of Naoussa, the vineyard that surrounds the winery is 140 acres and was first planted by Markos' grandfather in 1972. In fact, it was the first organic vineyard in Greece. The ecosystem of the area is amazing and largely isolated.

Vinification - Aging

Aged in oak barrels for 12 months.

Ideal combination with lamb on the spit, veal giuvecchi, stew and mushroom pie.
